Learn all about the services your cosmetic dentist in Roswell offers patients of all ages.

Smile detractors:

There are many, and we all know what they are because if we smile and see them in the mirror, we shudder.

  • Dull, yellowed enamel
  • Gapped teeth
  • Poor dental alignment
  • Dark fillings
  • Chipped, cracked teeth
  • Orthodontic relapse (teeth drift back into their uncorrected positions)

Some defects come from wear and tear, aging, oral injury, staining from darkly pigmented foods and smoking. Others come from genetics. Dr. Martin wants you to know that together, we can fix these flaws to help you flash your best smile.

What Dr. Wyman Martin offers

Your cosmetic dentist in Roswell as a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry offers personalized and precise smile design to patients who just want to feel good when they smile. It is true, your smile really does become you. If your smile has flaws, you want to hide it, if it looks naturally great, you want to show it off.

As such, you'll benefit from a one-on-one consultation at The Martin Dental Center for Oral Health and Aesthetics. Dr. Martin will study your oral health and smile configuration. Working together, we can correct the flaws that have bothered you for years.

His services include:

  • Zoom - Whitening with customized trays and a bleaching gel activated by a LED light. The in-office treatment removes years of stains caused by tobacco, simple aging or dark foods such as red wine, blueberries, tea and coffee. Teeth may brighten up to four to six shades.
  • MTM clear aligners accomplish minor tooth movement (hence, the name) quickly and comfortably, erasing minor bite and alignment problems. They are so much easier than traditional braces.
  • Porcelain veneers which are customized, tooth-shaped shells of quality porcelain which disguise the front of teeth flawed with hairline cracks, large chips, odd shape, gaps and overcrowding. Very durable, veneers produce Hollywood results in just two visits with Dr. Martin.
  • White fillings and tooth-colored crowns, combining the best of dental aesthetics while restoring broken down teeth.

Self Magazine: “Gum Disease Is No Joke.”

Stating that information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows “nearly half of adults 30 and over have some form of periodontal (gum) disease,” SELF Magazine (11/21, Barnes) discusses the importance of keeping gums healthy. The article states that “gum disease is no joke,” and “when it gets severe enough, it can even lead to tooth loss.” Some signs that could indicate a problem include gums that bleed easily, are red and swollen, or are pulling away from teeth. The article also mentions that while research suggests an association between gum disease and heart disease, the relationship between the two is “not fully understood.” The ADA states, “The current position of the American Heart Association and the American Dental Association is that while periodontal disease and heart health have an association, additional research is needed to establish whether one causes the other.”

MouthHealthy.org provides additional information on gum disease and heart disease and oral health.

How dental implants from your Roswell dentist can give you back your smiledental implants

Have you lost teeth? Does your smile look incomplete? Do you want to restore your smile? If you answered yes to these questions, it’s time for you to discover the most modern, state-of-the-art method of tooth replacement available. It’s called dental implants! Dr. Wyman Martin at The Martin Dental Center For Oral Health and Aesthetics in Roswell, GA wants to introduce you to the benefits of dental implants.

Your dental implant procedure begins with the implant screw which is placed in your jaw by a specialist during a simple in-office procedure. It will function as the “root” of your missing tooth. Over time, your body will grow bone to fuse with the implant and secure it in place. After the implant area has fully healed, a beautiful new implant crown will be placed on top of a custom abutment which is screwed into the implant by your Roswell dentist, and you will have a new tooth.

If you are missing more than a single tooth, you can also choose multiple implant crowns, or a cosmetically beautiful bridge or denture which is supported by implants. The implants help to retain bone which might otherwise be lost due to the pressure of a dental appliance resting on your jaw.

When you choose to restore your smile with dental implants, you can count on:

  • A beautiful crown which will look like your natural teeth.
  • Improved chewing ability because dental implants are stable and won’t move around when you eat.
  • A healthier mouth because you can brush and floss dental implants just like your natural teeth.

When you choose dental implants, you can be assured of successful results. In fact, dental implants boast a success rate of over 95 percent, according to the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

You deserve a complete smile, so why not restore your smile with dental implants? For more information about dental implants and other dental services call Dr. Martin at The Martin Dental Center For Oral Health and Aesthetics in Roswell, GA today!

New York University states the National Institute of Health has awarded a two year grant of nearly $450,000 to researchers at New York University College of Dentistry's Bluestone Center for Clinical Research "to develop biomarkers for tongue cancer", which is a subset of oral cancer. They hope to learn how to diagnose aggressive cancers earlier, modulate the microbiome, and prevent or at least slow the oral cancer progression, per Donna Albertson, PHD. Hopefully, this research will lead to the development of new, targeted therapies for these cancers.
